All you have to do is remove your old cable by putting a flattened paperclip into the hole by where your cable is inserted into your scanner and remove your cable. Simply plug your existing USB Metrologic cable into the bottom of this scanner and you are done! This is a plug and play scanner and these are TERRIFIC scanners! Not because I am selling them, but truly because they can scan at angles, imperfect bar codes, on plastic and are WAY AHEAD of the game as far as scanning goes and we sell a LOT of scanners! No nonsensical software to use like MetroSet Metro POS or the like, literally plug it in and open notepad and IT WORKS! If you want to do a virtual serial (DB9, also known as serial port) you can if you go to Metrologic but that does require some tinkering an you are better off with a serial scanner which we also have listed on Ebay (search under our name for NEW Metrologic cubit scanner). MS1690 FOCUS Metrologic Instruments Handheld Barcode Scanner & USB Cable *READ*

When plugged into a USB Port, the three Lights flash out a Sequence, it Beeps, and the Laptop recognizes the Device, but any testing beyond that has NOT been done. I don’t have the Software to do so.
